Tianmen Mountain Tours, Cable Car & Cliff Walk | Zhangjiajie

Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain: It is famous for Tianmen Cave. Taking the Tianmen Mountain cableway, the world's longest alpine cableway, you can overlook the magnificent mountain scenery. There is also the thrilling glass walkway, allowing you to experience the feeling of walking in the air.

Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain

Located south of Yongding District in Zhangjiajie, Tianmen Mountain is named after the world-famous natural wonder—Tianmen Cave (Heaven's Gate Cave). Known as the "Soul of Wuling," it is a National Forest Park and a top-rated AAA A-level tourist attraction.

The park features a rare Karst mesa landscape with a lush mountain-top forest coverage of over 90%, making it feel like a majestic hanging garden in the sky. Ever since an aircraft successfully flew through Tianmen Cave in 1999, the mountain has hosted numerous international extreme sports events—such as wingsuit flying—earning its reputation as a Global Extreme Sports Mecca.

Temporary Tour Routes

(Due to the upgrade of the upper section of the Tianmen Mountain Cableway since November 6, 2025, three temporary two-way cableway routes are available.)

1. Two-Way Cableway Route A Package

Itinerary: Board the cableway at Tianmen Mountain Cableway Lower Station (City Center) -> Get off at Cableway Middle Station -> Transfer to the Scenic Shuttle Bus up to Tianmen Cave -> Take the 7-Stage Trans-Mountain Escalator behind Tianmen Cave to the mountain peak -> Explore mountain-top scenic spots -> Take the 7-Stage Trans-Mountain Escalator back down to Tianmen Cave -> Take the Tianmen Cave Express Cableway down to the Mountain Gate exit -> Take the scenic shuttle bus back to the City Center (Tianmen Mountain Cableway Lower Station).

2. Two-Way Cableway Route B Package

Itinerary: Enter through the Mountain Gate -> Take the Tianmen Cave Express Cableway up to Tianmen Cave -> Take the 7-Stage Trans-Mountain Escalator behind Tianmen Cave to the mountain peak -> Explore mountain-top scenic spots -> Take the 7-Stage Trans-Mountain Escalator back down to Tianmen Cave -> Take the Scenic Shuttle Bus from Tianmen Cave Square down to Cableway Middle Station -> Take the cableway down to the City Center (Tianmen Mountain Cableway Lower Station).

Travel Tip: When returning to Tianmen Cave Square, visitors who prefer not to take the shuttle bus to Cableway Middle Station may voluntarily choose to take the Tianmen Cave Express Cableway down to the Mountain Gate exit instead (same exit route as Route C).

3. Two-Way Cableway Route C Package

Itinerary: Enter through the Mountain Gate -> Take the Tianmen Cave Express Cableway up to Tianmen Cave -> Take the 7-Stage Trans-Mountain Escalator behind Tianmen Cave to the mountain peak -> Explore mountain-top scenic spots -> Take the 7-Stage Trans-Mountain Escalator back down to Tianmen Cave -> Take the Tianmen Cave Express Cableway down to the Mountain Gate exit.
