Baofeng Lake (Baofeng Hu)
Located in the Wulingyuan District of Zhangjiajie, Hunan Province, Baofeng Lake is an integral component of the Wulingyuan World Natural Heritage site and one of China's first batch of 5A-rated national tourist attractions. Named after its proximity to Baofeng Mountain, it is a high-gorge alpine lake formed by damming a canyon. The lake stretches approximately 2.5 kilometers with an average water depth of 72 meters, earn its fame as the "Fairyland Jade Pool" and "Water Zhangjiajie."

Ticket Price: Adult ticket approximately 96–110 RMB/person (typically includes environmental shuttle vehicles and boat cruise tickets; subject to daily official park announcements).
Opening Hours: Peak Season (April – October) usually 07:30 – 18:00; Off-Peak Season (November – March) usually 08:00 – 17:30. Note: The last boat departure is usually scheduled 1 hour prior to park closure.
Public Transportation
Take a direct coach bus from Zhangjiajie downtown to Wulingyuan Bus Station (approx. 40 minutes). Upon arrival in Wulingyuan, transfer to a local city bus or taxi to reach Baofeng Lake.
Practical Travel Tips
Please wear non-slip, comfortable walking or athletic shoes, as some waterside boardwalks can be slippery. The wind near the lake can be strong and temperatures vary; carrying a light jacket is recommended. Sun protection is essential on bright days.
For safety, remain seated during the boat ride and avoid leaning over the railings. Keep children close when walking along the boardwalks. Unauthorized flying of drones is strictly prohibited within the scenic area.
