72 Wonder Tower Night Tour & Tujia Architecture | Zhangjiajie

Located at No. 1 Wulingshan Avenue, Yongding District, Zhangjiajie, Hunan Province, the 72 Wonder Tower is a landmark cultural and tourism attraction in Zhangjiajie, honored as the "Cultural Landmark of Zhangjiajie" and the "Engine of Night Economy." Standing at 109.9 meters tall, the main tower officially set a Guinness World Record in 2019 as the "Tallest Stilt House (Diaojiaolou) Style Building in the World."

72 Wonder Tower (72 Qilou)

The architecture features a design combining traditional external antique styling with an internal steel structure. In the center of the main tower is a massive hollow doorway measuring 38 meters high and 28 meters wide, directly facing Tianmen Cave on Tianmen Mountain kilometers away, creating a unique visual spectacle of "Two Caves Facing Each Other." Suspended on both sides of the main building are 18 authentic Xiangxi ancient stilt houses, bringing to life the local Xiangxi legend of "Nine Bows, Eighteen Villages, and Seventy-Two Strange Towers."

The scenic area is divided into three major functional zones, combining night sightseeing, folk performances, culinary experiences, and leisure entertainment:

Tiangong Wonder Tower (Main Building): The core attraction, offering panoramic views overlooking Zhangjiajie city. Inside, it houses folk custom exhibition halls and museum clusters.

Bustling Old Street: A vibrant food street featuring Xiangxi ethnic delicacies (such as Sanxiaguo, cured bacon, and Blood Rice Duck) alongside regional snacks from across China, complemented by non-material cultural heritage workshops and creative souvenir shops.

72 Wonder Villages: An immersive Guochao (National Trend) street zone featuring bar streets, boutique homestays, and regular Tujia folk song/dance performances, live-action shows, and light displays.

Night View & Light Shows: The attraction highlights night tourism. As dusk falls, the main tower lights up layer by layer, combining with 7D holographic projection technology to present a breathtaking light show.

Daily Live Performances: The venue hosts 72 daily interactive performances (15:00 – 22:45), including immersive shows like The Tower Welcoming Ceremony, Ten-Mile Foreign Settlement, Tower Lantern Lighting, Joyful Journey, Love of a Lifetime, and the Bonfire Grand Celebration.

Cultural Experiences: Visitors can enjoy Tujia and Miao ethnic photography services, the Strange Stone Museum, non-material cultural heritage teahouses, and rich cultural interactions.
