Zhangjiajie Travel: Yanpodu Taoshui Creek Rafting — Experience Summer‑Exclusive Speed and Thrill!
Taoshui Creek Rafting in Zhangjiajie is a canyon self‑service rafting spot located in Hongtu Village, Yanpodu Town, Cili County. Stretching 3. 5 kilometers in total with a maximum drop of 150 meters, this rafting delivers thrills comparable to riding a canyon roller‑coaster.

Its biggest highlight lies in the stream shaded by thick green trees. The whole route is cleverly shielded from direct sunlight, earning it the reputation of “No. 1 Natural Sun‑Protection Rafting”. It is an ideal choice for visitors seeking moderate thrills, family trips, or travelers who prioritize sun protection.

After passing the ticket booth, walk more than 100 meters down the covered corridor to reach the cableway station leading to the rafting launch site. You can take the cableway downhill, feasting your eyes on rolling green mountains and picturesque scenery along the way. After getting off the cableway, follow the winding boardwalk for another 100‑plus meters, and you will arrive at the rafting starting point hidden among lush trees. The boardwalk is narrow with many sharp bends, so elderly visitors should watch their steps carefully.

Nestled in Hongtu Village, southwest of Yanpodu Town in Cili County, Taoshui Creek Rafting sits 60 kilometers west of Zhangjiajie downtown and 20 kilometers east of Cili County seat. It is merely 5 kilometers from the Yanpodu exit of Chang‑Zhang Expressway and National Highway G353, boasting highly convenient transportation.

When water is released from the upstream reservoir, the creek swells up. Rubber rafts set off one after another, surging toward the downstream. Each raft is equipped with a punting pole for paddling and pushing off rocks to avoid getting stuck along the banks.

In gentle water sections, kids pull out their water guns, scoop up stream water and spray wildly for great fun. Those without water guns can splash water back by hand. Laughter and playful splashes fill the whole journey.
The full 3. 5‑kilometer rafting trip takes roughly one hour. The winding watercourse lets you fully enjoy the excitement of rapid surfing and obstacle swirls, while admiring diverse natural sights including karst caves and waterfalls.

There are fast‑flowing rapids dotted with huge boulders along the route. Always wear your safety helmet and hold firmly onto raft handles to avoid being thrown out for your personal safety. Water pours into the raft, leaving everyone completely soaked. If you bring mobile phones or other electronic devices, make sure they are well‑waterproofed to prevent damage.

At the rafting finish point, the scenic area thoughtfully provides warming ginger tea. After changing clothes and using restrooms, hike 100 meters uphill along the stone path on your right. Shuttle buses are on standby to take you straight back to the main entrance of the scenic spot.
